On September 25, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism issued a notice. After preliminary acceptance, comprehensive meeting review, on-site inspection results, and public announcement, the first batch of national full-region tourism demonstration zones were announced: Wulingyuan District of Zhangjiajie in Hunan Province was selected together with Nanyue District of Hengyang City and Shaoshan City of Xiangtan City.

The notice mentioned that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has identified 71 units across the country as national all-region tourism demonstration zones. Units identified as demonstration areas must continue to deepen reforms, accelerate innovation-driven development, and continue to promote the in-depth development of all-region tourism in accordance with high-quality development requirements. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism will implement the “in and out” management mechanism and conduct review work on the demonstration area in a timely manner. Provincial cultural and tourism administrative departments must conduct daily inspections of demonstration areas within their jurisdiction and participate in review work.
