Special Meeting Deploys Forest Fire Prevention
On January 26, the Wulingyuan District Forest Fire Prevention Headquarters held a special meeting on forest fire prevention work this winter and next spring to comprehensively deploy forest fire prevention work this winter and next spring, especially important festivals such as the Spring Festival and Qingming Festival, to ensure the safety of forest resources and the safety of tourism reception.
Winter is a key period for forest fire prevention. In particular, the core scenic area of Wulingyuan has a high forest coverage rate, long tourist routes, and a wide range of forest fire prevention areas. In this regard, Wulingyuan District further clarified the responsibilities of forest fire prevention. It is required to resolutely implement administrative leadership responsibilities, departmental contract responsibilities and fire source control responsibilities. At the same time, fire prevention measures will be further strengthened, and fire source control, emergency team building, material reserves and duty preparation will be effectively implemented. Especially for core scenic spots, we will strengthen the management of travel agencies, tour guides and operators, and strictly investigate and deal with illegal smoking and illegal use of fire in scenic spots.
Improving Systems and Strictly Controlling Outdoor Fire Sources
Wulingyuan has also improved the forest fire prevention work system. The focus is that towns (streets) must clarify that villagers, especially those living in scenic spots, must comply with three "strict prohibitions": it is strictly prohibited to set off fireworks and firecrackers, light incense and candles, and burn paper money when visiting graves; it is strictly prohibited to burn fire soil and fertilizer in forest areas; it is strictly prohibited to bring open flames into forest areas. All towns (subdistricts) must effectively improve emergency plans, wild fire source inspection plans, etc., to ensure that fire prevention work is standardized and institutionalized.
Wulingyuan will also increase the intensity of forest fire prevention inspections. In particular, fire prevention inspections in core scenic spots must be implemented on a daily basis, and the accountability system must be strictly implemented to effectively reduce fire hazards to a minimum.
