Soliciting Opinions on Standardizing Homestays and Inns
Recently, Wulingyuan District held a consultation meeting on the standardized construction of B&Bs and inns, soliciting opinions and suggestions from relevant functional departments on how to guide the construction, management, and operation of B&Bs and inns in the district.
In recent years, small and medium-sized B&Bs have flourished in Wulingyuan District. According to incomplete statistics, there are about 300 various types of B&Bs with a total of about 4,000 beds in the district. They have become an important force in Wulingyuan’s tourist accommodation reception. Among them, the more representative ones include Xibujie Inn, Guanshanyue Mansion, Yuandi Inn, No. 5 Valley, Milan Inn, Exclusive Memory, Mengpa Inn and other inns with certain decorative features, certain reception scale, certain marketing concepts and relatively stable customer sources.
Inn Alliance Promotes Industry Self-Regulation
In the development of the inn industry, the brand awareness, management awareness, marketing concepts and operating methods of inn owners are also constantly improving. In June last year, the Inn Alliance initiated by the inn owners themselves was established in an attempt to promote the healthy development of the inn industry through private industry self-discipline.
Construction and Operation Face Many Challenges
However, in the actual construction and operation management, many problems such as planning and construction, business licenses, fire safety, publicity and promotion, etc. have also been encountered, and these problems cannot be effectively solved by relying on industry organizations. In April, Wulingyuan District specially organized relevant functional departments to inspect the B&B industry in Moganshan, Lijiang and other places to learn from the advanced experience of local hotel construction and management. In view of the lack of planning, low overall quality, and lack of management in the development process of Wulingyuan B&B, on the basis of extensive research, we formulated guiding opinions on how to develop B&B inns in terms of planning and construction, operation and management services, and policy support.
Based on extensive solicitation of opinions and suggestions, Wulingyuan will continue to improve the drafted guiding opinions so that they can truly become a "guide" for the development and construction of B&Bs and inns in the entire region.
