Scenic area signage renovation and upgrade
In recent years, as the tourism industry in Wulingyuan Scenic Area continues to heat up, the number of Chinese and foreign tourists entering and exiting the area's core attractions has increased day by day and climbed year by year. In order to improve the image of the tourism industry in scenic spots and better serve Chinese and foreign tourists, the district has adopted various measures such as renovation, new additions, and unified models to standardize and regulate tourist traffic signs in scenic spots, and comprehensively upgrade and transform the construction system of tourist traffic signs in scenic spots.
According to statistics, in 2014, the district invested a total of 182,000 yuan to renovate and upgrade a total of 334 signs in Tianzi Mountain, Yangjiajie and Suoxiyu scenic areas in the core scenic areas. The upgraded signs are all made of imported Sapele wood boards and cover attraction introductions, scenic area maps, geological science introductions, World Natural Heritage and World Geopark signs, safety tips, etc. In 2015, the district invested a total of 1.559 million yuan to comprehensively transform and upgrade the signage in the core scenic area. This renovation added 448 new signs, including 168 traffic organization signs such as navigation maps, overview maps, and guide signs. The tourist guide map of the upper station of the Yangjiajie Cableway has been updated, and guide signs have been set up on Tianzi Mountain, Yuanjiajie, Tianzishan Cableway and Bailong Elevator. While updating signage and launching new attractions, the district has also updated various promotional materials for tourists such as Wulingyuan Tourism website, self-driving tour manuals, hand-drawn maps of core scenic spots, etc. to ensure that Chinese and foreign tourists can easily, timely and quickly understand the relevant tourism information they need.
Tourism traffic sign project advanced
The author learned that the district recently launched a tourism traffic sign project for the cultural and ecological tourism boutique routes in the Greater Xiangxi region. The project is organized and coordinated by the District Development and Reform Bureau, implemented by the District Highway Bureau, coordinated by the District Finance Bureau and the District Tourism Bureau, and set up in accordance with the unified arrangements of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Provincial Department of Finance, the Provincial Department of Transportation, and the Provincial Tourism Bureau. After layers of screening and summarization, the district plans to set up 15 new tourist traffic signs, including 6 for provincial roads, 6 for county roads, and 3 for highway connecting lines. The funds required for the construction of tourist traffic signs will be temporarily advanced by the district government. Tourism traffic signs that have been included in the provincial plan will be paid for by provincial supplementary funds, and those that are not included in the provincial plan will be paid by the district government finance. The total project investment is estimated to be 678,000 yuan, and the district finance will allocate it based on the actual post-purchase price.
It is reported that the scenic spots with tourist traffic signs in the area have been included in the "List of Tourist Traffic Signs Guiding Scenic Spots (Spots) in the Greater Western Hunan Region", and the tourist traffic signs have been included in the "List of Tourist Traffic Signs in the Greater Western Hunan Region (by County and City)". The comprehensive upgrade of the tourism transportation signage construction system has effectively improved Wulingyuan's comprehensive tourism transportation service capabilities. At the same time, it has continuously promoted the economic and social development of the village and surrounding areas, demonstrated the targeted poverty alleviation effect, and perfectly realized the in-depth integration of regional ecological and cultural tourism.
