Safety and satisfaction rank first. Wulingyuan strictly implements safe tourism reception during flood season

Tourists take a boat tour in Baofeng Lake Scenic Area. Entering the flood season, the scenic spot has fully paid attention to the safety of water tourism.

New Round of Rainfall Response Deployment

According to the weather forecast, Zhangjiajie City will usher in a new round of precipitation from June 1 to 4. The Tourism Working Committee Office and Safety and Satisfaction Office of Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie City have quickly made work arrangements recently, requiring all scenic spots, tourism-related enterprises, hotels, etc. to be fully prepared to ensure the safety and satisfaction of tourists in Wulingyuan during heavy precipitation weather.

On May 29, Wulingyuan experienced continuous heavy rainfall for nearly 9 hours, causing the Zicaotan section of Jinbian Stream to be closed for a time and environmentally friendly vehicles to be blocked in the Shili Gallery section, which affected tourist safety to a certain extent. In response to heavy rainfall and possible water and flood conditions, the Wulingyuan District Tourism Working Committee Office and the District Safety and Satisfaction Office organized all scenic spots and tourism-related units to do their best to prevent floods, pay close attention to rain and flood conditions, and conduct daily supervision of the flash flood disaster early warning system. On the other hand, we will conduct comprehensive inspections on flood prevention preparations.

Tourism Enterprise Equipment Safety Monitoring

It is understood that at present, tourism enterprises operating cableways, elevators, cruise ships, environmentally friendly vehicles, sightseeing trams, etc. have fully completed equipment safety monitoring and early warning and forecasting work in accordance with the requirements, and have strengthened duty dispatch and safe operation management and control. The management committees and offices of various scenic spots have focused on the potential safety hazards in important areas, waters, swimming trails, and dangerous rock masses in the scenic spots (spots), and organized efforts to eliminate potential safety hazards in a timely manner. At the same time, the on-duty force has been strengthened. Once heavy rainfall occurs, humanized services such as rain protection, slip prevention, and safety guidance for tourists will be fully provided.

Peak Season Reservation and Visitor Flow Guidance

It is currently the peak tourist season, and Wulingyuan’s core scenic spot receives an average of nearly 20,000 visitors per day. In response to the new round of heavy rainfall, the Wulingyuan District Tourism Committee Office and the District Safety and Satisfaction Office have strengthened coordination with various travel agencies. Through time-sharing reservations at sub-stations and limited ticket sales at related attractions, they have guided each team to reasonably arrange their tours in heavy rainfall weather. The district tourism bureau has also linked up with enterprises in various scenic spots to publish the latest tourist information of the scenic spots through Weibo, WeChat and other platforms. At the same time, all ticket stations and units in scenic spots also use electronic displays to promptly announce weather conditions and live tours, and provide reminder services.

Flood Season Travel Safety Reminder

According to the forecast of the Municipal Meteorological Department, the new round of precipitation will last for a long time. Due to the current weather situation, the Wulingyuan District Tourism Committee Office and the Safety and Security Office remind all travel agencies and tourists that travel safety during the flood season is the first priority. They should pay attention to weather changes at any time. Try not to travel alone on remote and dangerous tour routes. Follow the guidance of scenic area staff and contact the scenic area management department as soon as possible in case of danger. Wear rain gear and jackets, and be careful of rockfalls in mountainous areas, rising water in canyons, and lightning strikes.
