Spring Festival Golden Week Reception Hits New High
On February 13, the surging tourist army returned home, and the hot Spring Festival Tourism Golden Week gradually came to an end. Under the influence of many preferential policies such as "55% off" on off-season tickets, one ordinary ticket valid for four days, three major ticket discounts for 298 yuan for annual tickets, and free access to highways during the Spring Festival holiday, Wulingyuan, the core scenic spot in Zhangjiajie, is ushering in the hottest Spring Festival Golden Week in history.
Wan Qikun, deputy director of the Wulingyuan District People's Government in charge of tourism, said that in the six days before the Spring Festival Golden Week (from the 29th of the twelfth lunar month to the fifth day of the first lunar month), Wulingyuan received a total of 567,400 Chinese and foreign tourists, a year-on-year increase of 46.42%. Among them, 135,800 tourists visited the core scenic spots at one time, a year-on-year increase of 36.74%, which greatly exceeded the historical record of the highest reception during the Spring Festival Golden Week in 2015.
Self-Drive Tourism Dominates; Busy but Orderly Reception
During the Golden Week of the Spring Festival this year, Wulingyuan was traveling with “thousands of horses”, and all the receptions were busy but not chaotic. According to statistics, in the first six days of Golden Week, 14,000 foreign self-driving cars entered Wulingyuan, the core scenic spot in Zhangjiajie, a year-on-year increase of 8.94%, coming from more than 20 provinces (cities, regions) across the country. The surge of self-driving tours is testing the self-service system of scenic spots. The person in charge of the Wulingyuan District Tourism Working Committee Office said that on the Zhangqing Highway, Yanglong Highway, Wulingyuan City, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park entrance and other sections entering the scenic area, traffic police, public security, transportation and other departments implement full-line patrols to provide front-line extended services such as traffic guidance and tourism information for self-driving cars. A total of nearly 10,000 parking spaces have been released in the four main areas entering the scenic spot, Wulingyuan Junping, Luogu Tower, Zhonghu Township, and Tianzishan Town, to accommodate self-driving cars in various places. It is understood that during the Golden Week, no self-driving cars were stranded in Wulingyuan, and there was no tourist safety accident, ensuring that self-driving tourists can enter and exit smoothly and have a comfortable time.
Scientific Dispatch Achieves Zero Safety Accidents
Facing the constant flow of tourists, Wulingyuan has also achieved "zero accidents" in safe reception through scientific scheduling and orderly guidance, and has won a good reputation among tourists. During the Spring Festival, all division-level leaders and more than 2,000 cadres and employees of the Wulingyuan District Committee, District Government, Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan Scenic Area and National Forest Park Administration stayed at various service support positions in the scenic area. The public security, armed police, tourism, traffic police, transportation and other departments worked together to provide front-line support. Each scenic spot enterprise, each scenic spot office and the management committee have strengthened safety protection for tourist trails and major scenic spots according to the division of responsibilities, and all important nodes have been assigned dedicated personnel to guide and supervise. In particular, in view of the large number of tourists in major distribution centers such as the Tianzishan Cableway, Bailong Elevator, and Yangjiajie Cableway during peak periods, police forces such as public security and armed police were coordinated on-site to assist in maintaining order. And 265 environmentally friendly vehicles have been adjusted to ensure the operation of each site, ensuring smooth, safe and orderly entry and exit of tourists. At the same time, the Wulingyuan District Tourism Working Committee Office has also established a mechanism for the immediate release of holiday tourism information. It releases weather updates, passenger flow information and traffic conditions in scenic spots through the website and WeChat to guide tourists to reasonably allocate time for entering and leaving the scenic spot. Baofeng Lake Scenic Area invited Chinese and foreign tourists to celebrate the New Year; Huangshizhai Scenic Area carried out the "Golden Monkey Presenting Treasures" activity; "Zhangjiajie·Charming Western Hunan" resumed performances on the first day of the first lunar month.
