Bangkok promotion event showcases Zhangjiajie landforms
(-On September 1, the People's Government of Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province, China held the "Pandora is too far, Zhangjiajie is very close" tourism product promotion conference in Bangkok, Thailand, to show the Thai people the landscape and scenery of Zhangjiajie, the "boundary of the world." This is the fourth consecutive year that Wulingyuan, the core scenic spot of Zhangjiajie, has been promoted in Thailand.
On the same day, Wulingyuan District representatives introduced Zhangjiajie's core tourism resources, transportation facilities, reception service facilities and special food to more than 150 travel agents through promotional videos and other forms. Guests such as Peng Bin, Director of the Wulingyuan District Tourism Bureau, Wan Nasili, Acting Director of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, Supale, President of the Association of Thai Travel Agencies, and other guests attended the event.
Zhangjiajie, filming location of Avatar
Peng Bin said in his speech that the dotted floating mountains, colorful giant trees, and confusing gardens on the planet Pandora in the once popular movie "Avatar" were filmed in Zhangjiajie. Without Zhangjiajie, the great movie "Avatar" would not have been born.
Peng Bin said that Wulingyuan, the core scenic spot in Zhangjiajie, has dense primitive forest vegetation, and the average content of negative oxygen ions per cubic centimeter in the air is as high as 100,000. It is called a "natural oxygen bar." In recent years, tourism exchanges and cooperation between Zhangjiajie and Thailand have become more and more extensive. Direct charter flights have been opened for tourism between Zhangjiajie and Thailand, and a Zhangjiajie tourism image store in Thailand has been established, which has strengthened tourism exchanges between Zhangjiajie and Thailand.
Thai side comments on tourism cooperation between the two places
Wan Nasili spoke highly of Zhangjiajie’s promotion of tourism products in Thailand for four consecutive years. She said that Zhangjiajie has rare tourism resources in the world and has good tourism quality and development potential. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand will vigorously promote tourism cooperation and exchanges between Zhangjiajie and Thailand. She said that China is Thailand's largest source of inbound tourists. Last year, Thailand received 4.5 million Chinese tourists, and this year it is expected to reach 6.5 million. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China. She hopes that the friendship between Thailand and China will last forever.
At the promotion meeting, Wan Qikun, deputy director of the Wulingyuan District People's Government, presented silk stamps with the scenery of Zhangjiajie to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand and the Thai Travel Agents Association on behalf of Zhangjiajie. Supalak, President of the Thai Travel Agents Association, presented souvenirs in return to the Wulingyuan District People's Government. The two parties also signed a tourism cooperation agreement, stating that they would further strengthen cooperation and jointly promote the prosperity and development of tourism in the two places.
Thailand becomes an important source country for Zhangjiajie
It is understood that Thailand is an important overseas tourist source country for Zhangjiajie. In recent years, with the continuous promotion of Zhangjiajie in the Thai tourist source market and the continuous opening of direct charter flights between the two places, Thai people travel to Zhangjiajie more and more frequently. According to Zhangjiajie’s “Yichengtong” system, from January 1 to August 30 this year, nearly 20,000 Thai tourists entered Wulingyuan, the core scenic spot in Zhangjiajie, an increase of approximately 45% over the same period last year.
