Korean Visitors Up 40% Year-on-Year
The spring scenery is getting more and more beautiful, and the "Korean wind" is blowing stronger and stronger! On March 8, the author learned from the tourism department of Wulingyuan District in Zhangjiajie City that as of press time, Wulingyuan had received a total of 24,000 Korean tourists visiting the mountain, an increase of 40% year-on-year.
Korean Tourists Seen Everywhere at Attractions
Since the beginning of spring, the core scenic spots in Zhangjiajie such as Wulingyuan Tianzi Mountain, Yuanjiajie, Huangshi Village, Yangjiajie, Huanglong Cave, Baofeng Lake and other scenic spots have been filled with colorfully dressed Korean tourists. They are either intoxicated by the charming natural scenery of Wulingyuan or lingering on the unique folk customs of Wulingyuan. “There are more Korean tourists this year!” A vendor surnamed Mao happily told the author in the souvenir corridor of Huanglongdong Ecological Plaza.
"Honor your parents and send them to Zhangjiajie for a trip." It is understood that this sentence has been deeply rooted in South Korea, and Zhangjiajie is regarded by South Koreans as China's sacred mountain. Therefore, for more than ten years, Wulingyuan’s largest source of inbound tourists has been South Korea, and the number of Korean tourists has been increasing year by year. In 2015, Wulingyuan received 267,800 Korean tourists who visited the mountain, an increase of 24.39% compared with 2014. Industry insiders predict that the number of Korean tourists visiting Wulingyuan will exceed 300,000 in 2016.
