Entrance Plaza Construction Nears Completion
On the morning of June 25, tourist groups arrived one after another at Baofeng Lake Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie. In the entrance square of the scenic spot, the author saw that the main construction of the new ticketing center and parking building has been completed, and the installation of masonite slabs and related ancillary projects in the distribution square are also coming to an end. The person in charge of Baofeng Lake Scenic Area said that the entire entrance plaza quality improvement project will be completed and put into use in September this year.
The Baofeng Lake Scenic Area Entrance Plaza Improvement Project is located in Baofeng Road Community and is a key construction project in Zhangjiajie City. On June 24, four leaders including Yang Guangrong, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Wang Zhigang, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Acting Mayor, Zhu Guojun, Director of the Municipal People's Congress, and Wang Yeyuan, Chairman of the CPPCC, fully affirmed the quality improvement project of the entrance square of Baofeng Lake Scenic Area when they investigated key construction projects in Wulingyuan.
Project Land Use and Construction Content
The author learned at the project construction site that the Baofeng Lake Scenic Area Entrance Plaza Improvement Project started construction at the end of September 2014, with a land area of approximately 30.06 acres and a total construction area of 9804.88 square meters. It mainly constructs a scenic spot management complex building, a ticketing center, a visitor center (including parking lots and parking buildings) and other outdoor supporting facilities. The entire entrance environment improvement project is divided into four areas: the scenic area entrance area, the scenic area management service area, the ecological parking area, and the falling water landscape area. The total estimated investment is about 31.64 million yuan, and the total construction period is planned to be one year. At present, the entire project has completed an investment of approximately 18.74 million yuan. The slope control project of the entrance environment will be completed by the end of July, and the fire escape project will be completed by the end of August.
After the environment at the entrance of Baofeng Lake is improved, it will become a representative tourist distribution center in Wulingyuan Scenic Area, integrating tourists with resting, waiting and communication. In particular, landscape stones are set up at the entrance of the scenic spot as the theme symbol of the landscape culture of the scenic spot, and landscape elements such as landscape pillars expressing Wuling's simple culture, tall and graceful landscape tree arrays, elegant and natural sunshine lawns, and lush mountains are constructed to create a highly visual and transparent entrance landscape image. At the same time, a total of 211 parking areas have been set up in the upgraded ecological parking lot, and tourist buses and cars are separated, effectively solving the parking problem.
Scenic Area Interior to Be Gradually Upgraded
It is also understood that the improvement of the entrance environment is the first phase of the overall improvement and upgrading of Baofeng Lake Scenic Area. The next step will be to gradually improve the quality of the interior of the scenic spot and further expand the reception capacity in accordance with the plan.
Baofeng Lake Scenic Area is an important part of Wulingyuan, a world natural heritage. It has received more than 380,000 Chinese and foreign tourists this year, a year-on-year increase of more than 90%.
