Background of World Heritage Route Design
In accordance with the notification requirements of the National Tourism Administration on the submission of supporting tourist routes for the top ten international tourism brands, the Wulingyuan District Tourism and Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau of Zhangjiajie City carefully arranged the world natural heritage brand tourist routes based on its own actual conditions.
Wulingyuan is one of the first batch of World Natural Heritage. In 2010, the quartz sandstone peak forest landform in Wulingyuan Scenic Area was recognized as "Zhangjiajie Landform" by international academic authorities. In recent years, Wulingyuan has relied on its first-class world natural heritage resources to promote and recommend world natural heritage brand routes such as Tianzi Mountain, Yangjiajie, Yuanjiajie, and Baofeng Lake to Chinese and foreign tourists. In 2015, the core scenic spot of Wulingyuan received 3.85 million tourists at one time.
Route Planning Principles and Bilingual Interpretation
In accordance with the principles of focusing on resource integration, displaying regional characteristics, adapting to the needs of overseas tourists, and being highly operable, the Wulingyuan District Tourism and Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau scientifically planned the world natural heritage routes and explained the scenic spots with pictures and texts, all in Chinese and English.
