Summer tourism reception continues to heat up
There is a swarm of student tours, a flood of self-driving tours, special train tours one after another, and charter flights one after another. This summer, Wulingyuan, the core scenic area of Zhangjiajie, a world natural heritage site, received an unusually high tourism reception. Compared with previous summer vacations, "Do you still have a house?" has become the most frequently appeared sentence in various WeChat Moments in Wulingyuan.
According to statistics from the Wulingyuan District Tourism Department on August 16, the core scenic spot received more than 1.16 million tourists in July, a year-on-year increase of nearly 32.7%; from August 1 to August 15, it received nearly 930,000 tourists, a year-on-year increase of nearly 61.5%.
Cool summer retreat tours favored by the market
The beautiful Zhangjiajie is the coolest place in summer. Since July, the "natural oxygen bar" in core scenic spots and the fresh and cool natural forest environment have become the first choice for tourists from all over the world to escape the summer heat. The series of leisure and vacation-based cool summer travel products are widely favored by markets around the world. In particular, the market for student family travel and self-guided travel is extremely hot this year. Since the summer vacation, there has been an overwhelming number of self-driving cars in Wulingyuan City and the National Forest Park every day. After mid-July, the occupancy rate of major hotels and specialty inns in Wulingyuan has reached over 95%, and weekend bookings are even "tight". The two major theaters Charming Xiangxi and Yanyu Zhangjiajie performed three additional performances every day, and the venues were full.
In addition to core scenic spots, the reception of secondary scenic spots has surged across the board. From July 1 to August 15, Baofeng Lake Scenic Area received nearly 250,000 visitors, a year-on-year increase of nearly 200,000; Huanglong Cave Scenic Area received more than 330,000 visitors, a year-on-year increase of nearly 20%. The reception of Yangjiajie Cableway, Huangshizhai Cableway, Bailong Elevator, and Shili Gallery Sightseeing Tram was also "singing loudly" all the way.
Scenic area facility upgrades and visitor flow diversion
Lively summer, safe travel. In conjunction with this year's national inspection of Wulingyuan's 5A-level scenic spot, the Wulingyuan District People's Government and the scenic spot administration have actively promoted the "toilet revolution" and the upgrading of various tourist facilities in the scenic spot. More than 20 tourist toilets have been renovated and upgraded, scenic area signage has been standardized, the largest Yuanjiajie Visitor Center on the mountain has been built, the mountain scenic area roads have been renovated, the scenic area management and environmental sanitation have been comprehensively tidy, and scenic area staff service competitions have been organized to create a safe and satisfactory tourism reception environment.
In order to minimize the queuing pressure of tourists at the main distribution centers, Wulingyuan has effectively optimized the environment for tourists to visit the mountain and improved the quality of the tour through measures such as reasonably regulating the frequency of tourists entering the mountain, making reservations for tours at different times and stations, limited ticket sales, and off-peak diversion. At the same time, the "10-minute emergency rescue and treatment circle in scenic spots" has been strengthened to provide tourist emergency rescue, medical assistance and other service guarantees.
According to reports, since the summer vacation, there have been no major travel-related complaints or safety incidents in Wulingyuan urban area and scenic spots, ensuring reception safety.
