Chaqiyu Village is located in Xiehe Township, Wulingyuan District. Zhangqing Highway passes through the village and is known as the "South Gate" of Wulingyuan. "One of the characteristics of our village is that it straddles the first-level scenic spot and the second-level scenic spot. From Baizhang Gorge inwards, it is the first-level scenic spot." Zhang Dongchu, secretary of the village branch, told reporters that the beautification construction of the village is close to the core scenic spot. "This place will soon be Build a park covering an area of two acres, with trees, pavilions, paths, green spaces, and fitness equipment. Construction will start tomorrow. "As a rural area, we are probably the only ones in Wulingyuan who can have a park in the village." Secretary Zhang is very proud of this.
What Zhang Dongchu is most proud of are the "five gardens" in the village - Baicao Garden, Golden Tea Mother Garden, Flower Seedling Garden, Ecological Breeding Garden, and Ecological Tourism Garden.

"Whether they are grass or trees, they can be used as medicine." In the Baicao Garden, there are Improved varieties of peonies, roses, roses, etc. "Most of the Chinese medicinal materials here will bloom." The Golden Tea Mother Garden is adjacent to the Baicao Garden, covering an area of about 50 acres. "This kind of tea can be sold for more than 1,000 yuan per catty after packaging."
Pointing to the hillside opposite the canyon, Zhang Dongchu told reporters, "There is a flower seedling garden, covering 215 acres, with more than 40 varieties of osmanthus, crape myrtle, and yew planted there. They are basically used for greening the village. These trees are planted in front and behind every house." Among these trees, there are more than 10,000 red-leafed heaths. "This tree has a special feature. The new leaves are fiery red in spring, so in spring, the entire mountain is red."
Spring is the best season to visit Changqiyu. Especially in May, with Zhangqing Highway as the boundary, the herb garden and tea garden on the left are in full bloom, and the seedling garden on the right reflects the red sky, coupled with wild peach blossoms, etc., it is so colorful!
Imitation Ecological Breeding and Sightseeing Garden
The simulated ecological breeding garden raises stone frogs, with grass and trees inside. "Grass can be used to raise cattle, cow dung can be used to raise earthworms, and earthworms can be fed to stone frogs. It is a purely ecological breeding method." Zhang Dongchu introduced that the eco-tourism sightseeing park is the largest investment project in the village, with an investment of nearly 30 million in the first phase. It is expected to start tourism reception in May next year. The investment in the second and third phases is about 40 million, covering an area of more than 600 acres. "It focuses on pure Tujia culture, covering food, housing, and entertainment, and integrates the three-stick drum, playing dada, pressing tea oil, etc. from the farming culture." In Zhang Dongchu's eyes, the completion of the tourist park will bring huge changes to the village.
In addition to having five gardens, Gaaqiyu Village is also the starting point for two outdoor routes in our city. One is a hiking route that leads from the village to Baofeng Mountain, and the other is a cycling route that leads to Xiehe Township with a 20-kilometer uphill road. Every weekend, this beautiful village with a forest coverage rate of 93% becomes a gathering place for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy the surrounding scenery.
