During the Golden Week of the Spring Festival, the four major tourist transportation means of Wulingyuan cableway, elevators, environmentally friendly vehicles, and sightseeing trams in the core scenic area of Zhangjiajie have greatly improved their reception and achieved "zero accidents" in terms of safety.
Cable Car and Elevator Ridership Grows Significantly
On February 15, the author learned from the Wulingyuan District Tourism and Foreign Affairs Bureau that during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday, the Yangjiajie Cableway received 82,400 passengers, a year-on-year increase of 91.24%; the Bailong Elevator received 92,700 passengers, a year-on-year increase of 20 .38%; the Huangshizhai Cableway received 43,900 passengers, a year-on-year increase of 47.7%; the Shili Gallery Sightseeing Tram received 31,500 passengers, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%; the core scenic area environmentally friendly vehicles transported more than 300,000 tourists.
High Pressure on Transport Safety Precautions
Cableways, elevators, environmentally friendly vehicles, and sightseeing trams are the most convenient means of transportation for tourists to visit Wulingyuan’s core scenic spots. They are also the spaces where tourists are most concentrated, where safety precautions are greatest, and where complaints are most likely to occur. This year, Wulingyuan District has placed a prominent position on safety precautions for scenic transportation such as cableways, elevators, and environmentally friendly vehicles. Before the holiday, the District Tourism Working Committee made special arrangements and organized the tourism, safety supervision, quality supervision, fire protection and other departments to conduct safety inspections one by one, and formulated a detailed emergency response plan. During the festival, the main leaders of the Wulingyuan District Tourism Working Committee were divided into groups to provide on-site supervision and on-site dispatch and command such as cableways and elevators. In order to ensure transportation order during peak periods, the District Tourism Working Committee also coordinated local police, armed police and other police forces to provide on-site assistance to better ensure the smooth and orderly entry and exit of tourists to and from the scenic spot.
At the same time, during the festival, ropeways, elevators, environmentally friendly vehicles and other enterprises carried out quality service competitions to make tourists feel "at home" and there were no major tourism complaints.
