Three-Day Holiday Receives 240,000 Tourists
During the May Day holiday, Wulingyuan Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie saw a huge flow of tourists. During the three-day holiday, Wulingyuan District received more than 240,000 Chinese and foreign tourists, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%. By scientifically adjusting tour routes, rationally guiding passenger flow, and all-round dispatching and command, orderly tourism reception was achieved.
Pre-Holiday Deployment to Cope with Traffic Pressure
Before May Day, in view of the pressure brought by the outage and renovation of Tianzi Mountain Cableway, the upgrade and renovation of two elevators of Bailong Elevator, and the simultaneous renovation of two park roads in the scenic area on the transportation operation on the mountain in the entire core scenic area, the Wulingyuan District Tourism Committee quickly made arrangements and implemented time-zoning in the core scenic area. Twelve hard measures, including the sub-station reservation mechanism for mountain tours, time-sharing reservations for limited tours, reservations for Bailong Sky Ladder and Yangjiajie Cableway and limited ticket sales, and the diversion of some groups into the Huangshizhai Scenic Area through the "Yichengtong" system, have effectively solved the problem of long queues at the main tourist distribution centers in the scenic area.
Multiple Departments On-Site Regulation and Guidance of Tourist Flow
At the main tourist distribution centers of Shuirao Simen and Bailong Ladder, multiple functional departments such as tourism, scenic spot offices, transportation administration, traffic police, and public security are on-site to regulate and guide passenger flow and maintain order. In order to avoid long queues of tourists at the Bailong Sky Ladder Station, the Suoxiyu Scenic Area Office has implemented segmented passenger flow at the four gates of the water, implemented environmentally friendly vehicles for time-sharing transportation, and strictly controlled the entry of social vehicles, effectively ensuring the reception order of tourists at the Bailong Sky Ladder Station. May 2 is the peak tourist period, and the longest queue time at the Bailong Ladder station does not exceed 1.5 hours.

Ticket Station Entry and On-Site Command
This year, the Forest Park ticket station is the main channel for tourists to enter the core scenic area. On May 2, nearly 20,000 people entered the park at one time. Zhu Yongwen, Secretary of the Wulingyuan District Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Scenic Area Administration, led tourism, public security and other departments to provide guidance and on-site control at various important nodes. The Wulingyuan Tourism Working Committee Office organized an inspection and supervision team to conduct inspections in Shili Gallery, Shuilaosimen, Yuanjiajie, Huangshizhai and other scenic spots to understand the passenger flow dynamics at the first time. The District Tourism Quality Supervision Office, together with the public security, urban management, price, and traffic police, conducts mobile law enforcement inspections in urban areas and various scenic spots to ensure service guarantees around the clock.
Consultation Desk and Volunteer Service
At the information desks at ticket stations in urban areas and scenic spots, staff patiently and meticulously distributed promotional materials and explained routes to tourists. Wulingyuan District Tourism Bureau organizes volunteers to flow on the front lines of the scenic spot and broadcast live updates of the scenic spot through the online platform for the first time. At the same time, volunteers also serve as messengers of civilization, correcting some uncivilized behaviors in scenic spots and reminding tourists to travel safely and civilly. Wulingyuan Tourism Bureau also releases the passenger flow dynamics of various scenic spots through its WeChat and Weibo as soon as possible, and provides various types of consultation to tourists online.
According to statistics from the Wulingyuan District Tourism Committee Office, 58,000 tourists visited the core scenic area of Wulingyuan during the short-term holiday, and there were no major tourism complaints or long queues of tourists.
