Zhangjiajie launches tourism market rectification
In mid-October, Zhangjiajie launched a centralized and comprehensive rectification operation for the tourism market. Within three months from now on, outstanding problems will be thoroughly rectified, tourism management and service levels will be improved, and "Safety and Satisfaction in Zhangjiajie" will become a national tourism service standard model.
Tourism in Zhangjiajie has continued to be popular this year. The total number of tourist arrivals and tourism revenue are both much higher than the national growth rates of 7.9% and 6.3%, and it is far ahead among similar mountain tourist attractions in the country. Before and after the National Day holiday, CCTV and the Beijing News exposed the phenomena of "disguised forced consumption of tourists" and "forced sales of package tickets" in Zhangjiajie. The tourism authorities quickly and severely investigated and dealt with relevant tourism enterprises and individuals involved, and must fundamentally put an end to illegal activities that disrupt the tourism market.
Rectification of 30 problems in seven areas
The centralized rectification actions include rectifying 30 specific issues in 7 aspects, including tourism industry order, tourism transportation order, tourism market order, tourism environmental sanitation, tourism price order, tourism food and drug safety, and tourism market operations. It adopts the form of self-examination, self-rectification and supervision and unannounced visits, involving all travel agencies, tour guides, travel-related websites, hotels, leisure and entertainment venues, catering spots, scenic spots, tourism shopping venues, tourism transportation industry, tourism environmental sanitation and tourism safety facilities.
Clarify penalties for violations of laws and regulations
It is reported that Zhangjiajie has also clarified the measures for the management of penalties for travel-related violations. Any four major travel-related violations, including those where similar issues have been complained for more than three times (inclusive), where self-problems have caused social mass incidents, been exposed by media at the provincial level and above, or where travel-related violations have occurred during centralized and comprehensive rectification, will be strictly held accountable, investigated to the end, and dealt with with the utmost severity. At the same time, Zhangjiajie also implements the first inquiry responsibility system for travel-related complaints, and implements a door-to-door apology system and a public exposure system for major travel-related complaints.
At the launch ceremony, Cheng Danfeng, member of the Standing Committee of the Zhangjiajie Municipal Party Committee and deputy mayor, said that taking the media exposure as an opportunity to increase rectification efforts, improve tourism management and service levels, and strive to make the Zhangjiajie model a national tourism service standard.
